Learning to fly a model on your own can be frustrating and expensive. I doesn't have to be,  join the club and we will show you how to fly safely and responsibly. We use a “buddy box “system to teach new fliers. Your transmitter is linked to an instructors so that he can take control if you get into trouble.

​

During the spring and summer months we hold dedicated training evenings for new fliers at our field every Thursday. The club supports the Scottish Aeromodellers Association(SAA) flight training scheme and you will initially be trained to "Bronze" standard before being allowed to fly solo.

Our Trainer Plane

As a result of an SAA award given to HMFC for training support, we have purchased a boomerang trainer. This trainer is specifically for the use of tuition and will help our training capability especially for those members starting out in the hobby, or for those who need additional training. 

​

A big thanks to Alan Bunker for purchasing the model and accessories, and for his time spent getting the model ready for flight.
